Our strategy is based on co-operation between different disciplines and stakeholders. Researchers, teachers, students, practitioners and politicians from various work fields together with citizens discover the pleasure and the added value of working in such networks and maintaining them. Interactive planning and action research are the common ground.
Therefore our strategy is built on two pillars, which in an ongoing process are linked to one another. The first pillar is that of theory based research to open up and build a body of knowledge, within and outside the universities and knowledge institutes. The second pillar is that of knowledge application in practice. By connecting these two threads we can continually refresh and update our knowledge. By doing so, we are all together involved in an ongoing process of creating and transferring knowledge.
For the forthcoming two years we have planned to achieve the following goals:
create an overview of realised Shared Space – projects in the Netherlands and elsewhere, evaluate them, draw lessons and best practices
create a framework of the knowledge output we want to gather from future Shared Space – projects
compose an ‘output catalogue’ which helps us and others to assess their Shared Space – projects
build a research programme with scholars and researchers, each of them working on parts of that overall programme.
